rubies, it’s cold outside

Winter is here and it’s back with a vengeance. We don’t know if Summer was just super-hot or if we are in for a proper cold winter but the struggle is REAL. Especially when it comes to getting out of bed in the morning.

Winter also brings other forms of anxiety. You either get those Winter babies that can’t get enough of the cold or you have those that feel a little lonelier and your mental health takes a knock.

Research has found that those that struggle during the colder months should opt for a week-long social media break. Those that participated saw significant improvement in wellbeing, depression and anxiety compared to other groups that continued as normal.

One in four of us suffer from loneliness and there are a couple of ways we can try combat this. Either through connecting with friends, trying to meeting new people or reconnecting with ourselves but a week-long social media break could also be a simple but effective tool.

One of the big pros for a week-long social media is connecting more with real life and being more present. Going on a walk and actually admiring the beautiful scenery around you, spending time with friends and being present not constantly worrying about your phone vibrating.

People are often shocked that coming off social media makes us feel less lonely, but it makes perfect sense. You are less susceptible to FOMO and you start to make more effort IRL (in real life).

We for one will definitely be giving this a try! What do you think rubies, would you consider going on a week-long social media break if you suffer from loneliness?👀

This is so true! It’s that recent saying I’ve been seeing more and more: “Come into the forest… There is no wifi here, but you are guaranteed to find a connection”. I love that.
I would absolutely take a break from social media for a week. It will be a difficult detox at first, but I know that after a while, you start to become present, and connect to your immediate environment. A still mind is where healing and happiness begins 🙂

All updated successfully hope to hear from you soon🙏.

Well for me I don’t think I can take a break from social media,as I learn so many things from it,I’d rather change from the uneducational pages I’m following and focus more on education, giving and some other pages, helping pages to interact with others and see what I’m going through is not what I’m facing alone.

      I can’t wait for July’s newsletter ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
