Handbag Hygiene 101
Handbags are a girls best friend and tend to go everywhere and anywhere with us. We often forget the health risk of having a handbag.
It is known that a woman’s handbag could house more bacteria than a public toilet. So in order to avoid this we have put a list together to ensure your handbag is clean.
- Wipe it down regularly with sanitiser wipes
- When out and about refrain from placing your handbag on the floor rather place it on a able or chair
- Cleaning out the inside of your bag remembering to wipe down the inside as well as the items inside
- Wash the inner material with a detergent
- Use a bag organiser
With these 5 tips you will no longer be carrying around a health hazard!

Thank you for this article. I forget that my handbag carries so many germs but this will change as I will disinfect it
I carry my phone, tissues, wetwipes, small notebook and pen wherever I go and when I do use my handbag every day, I clean it every two to three times a month. For special occasion I use my purses, a good cleaning every two to three months is suffice. I take time to clean all my bags properly.

Always have a tampon in my handbag not forget sanitise , lipcare, sunglasses … I always place it on the floor but thank you for the eye opener

I love my sanitizing wipes , it’s a must have for every handbag as it’s always needed for everyday living
Items I have in my bag are usually lip balm, hand sanitizer, cellphone & earphones, sweets or bubblegum, make up bag, water, wallet with a million rewards cards lol, tissues, car keys
