Try these steps out if you are hesitant about dealing with your situation:
Small steps –
Let’s be honest the thought of finding a therapist can be down right overwhelming. We recommend that you try open up ever so casually to a best friend, sibling or parent. You don’t even need to jump right into the issue but rather test the waters over a couple of coffees until you are ready to discuss what is bothering you.
Keep a journal –
Not quite ready to open up to anyone just yet? No worries. We recommend you resort to putting your feelings and thoughts on paper. This is a great way to express your feelings, when you are not ready to share them with the world. You can keep a formal diary or jot down bullet points whatever you find works best for you.
Challenge negative thoughts –
Ask your self whose judgements you are really worried about. Most often than not we create scenarios in our minds to be way bigger of deals than what they actually are. Therefore it is important to check-in with yourself and not let your mind run away with you, this causes unnecessary worrying and anxiety.
Get active –
Join a gym or a yoga studio or why not just throw your running shoes on. It has been scientifically proven that exercise is not only beneficial for ones physical health but is a natural drug when it comes to ones mental health. Next time you are having a bad day go sweat it out, trust you will feel a lot better about yourself and your situation.
