Kim Kardashian’s Productive Morning Routine

Kim K is an absolute icon – she seems to do it all. Being the successful business and beauty mogul that she is, who wouldn’t want to know her secrets to productivity? Mornings are often the key to setting yourself up for success, so we’re letting you in on how she starts her day so that you can thrive just as much as she does!

Remember, a good morning routine actually starts before you go to bed. You need to make sure that you’re rested enough to get up on time and do all the things you’d like to do before you start your day. Kim is always in bed around 10 or 11pm, but before she tucks herself in she lays out her workout clothes for the next morning. Doing this will make you less likely to skip out on that sunrise sweat!

Step 1: Wake Up

Kim rises at 5:45am every morning. Sounds crazy and might not be realistic for most of us, but it’s still a full 7 – 8 hours sleep if you get to bed on time (something that also might take some practice).

Step 2: Check Emails

The first productive step of Kim’s day is to check her emails. Getting all of your replies out of the way first thing in the morning is a great way to check something major off of your to do list, freeing up some mental space for the rest of the day.

Step 3: Workout

Kim normally goes for a run around the horse trails near her Calabasas home, but not all of us have that luxury. If going for a run isn’t available to you or isn’t something you enjoy, do whatever exercise makes you happy! Some HIIT or yoga is a great option. Even light stretching works – it’s mostly about moving and getting into your body first thing in the morning rather than overexerting yourself. Starting the day with a workout has been proven to increase energy and improve mental health. No matter what you do with the rest of your day, if you’ve worked out you’ve already accomplished something. This is a huge part of self-care!

Step 4: Shower or Bath

Around 7am Kim hops into the shower or takes a nice relaxing bath in her swimming pool sized bathtub. Most of us don’t have that option, but do whatever works for you! She always uses a body scrub to exfoliate her skin and keep it nice and smooth, and also cleanses her face while in the shower.

Step 5: Skincare

You’ve already cleansed your face, so now it’s time to give it a little more love. Kim K always stresses the importance of taking care of your skin, and we won’t question her on that one. She no doubt has all sorts of fancy lotions and potions, but that’s not necessary. If you have some extra nourishing serums then that’s great, but all you need is some nice moisturizer and a good daily SPF.

Step 6: Breakfast

By this point with all of this activity, you’ll probably be starving! Kim eats breakfast around 7:30am – normally scrambled eggs or porridge. It’s common for a lot of us to skip breakfast, but they’re not lying when they say it’s the most important meal of the day. Breakfast kick-starts your metabolism and makes sure that you have enough energy until lunchtime, preventing a mid-morning crash. It’s especially important after expending as much energy as this morning routine requires! Make sure you eat something nourishing with a good balance of carbs, fats and proteins to propel you through your day in the most effective way possible.

Step 7: Getting Ready for the Day

Kim calls this step “getting into glam”. She of course has makeup artists and stylists to help her through this process, which we don’t. For us it’s all about getting ready in a way that makes us feel good – that may include getting all dolled up and it may not. As long as you’re ready to take on the rest of your day, you’re good!

Would you look at that – all of this done before 10am! If you do end up trying Kim’s ultra-productive morning routine, it’s important to remember to be kind to yourself. This kind of thing takes some major habit building and getting used to. If you don’t do it perfectly, don’t beat yourself up. Not every day is a morning routine kind of day, and you can also feel free to skip out any of the listed steps. Morning routines are about making you feel good, not about pressuring you to be perfect.

Must admit… working from home the last year has changed my routine alot (our bosses decided we won’t go back fir the rest of this year) . I no longer rush to sit in traffic for under an hour.

My routine now includes a yoga session before my kiddo wakes up and it definitely helps with prepping me for the day. The great thing about yoga is you go as far as YOU can. It has amazed me how much further I can stretch nowadays.

But admittedly I have day when I wanna just lye in for a bit, so I give myself that too

Love this article. Kim is one of my fav style icons. She’s a business goddess! Love her.

My morning routine, during the week is, I get up 5:45 , take a bath, get dressed for work, get my two kids ready for school, i mostly finish my morning duties the night before, like packing my kids lunch boxes, laying out our clothes etc.. We eat breakfast and porridge and go to work and school. Being a full time mom with a full time job is a lot, but I love being independent and looking after my children. I love doing things that make me happy. I need to start exercising after work, in the mornings I’m too busy getting everyone incl myself ready.. And I go to bed by 9 to have 8 hours of sleep. Let us take care of ourselves. It’s so important and always do what works for you. Be kind to yourself.
