This weeks Tip Tuesday is all about the eyes!
Your eyes are the windows to your soul…so let’s make sure they are looking gorgeous and in tiptop condition… Here are a few tricks of the trade to keep your eyes looking gorgeous, well groomed and sparkling!
If the tip of your eyeliner pencil is crumbling and smearing during application, we advise leaving it in the freezer for 10 minutes to firm the top. It should glide along your lash line seamlessly after that!
For curlier and flirty lashes (which we are sure every ruby desires) we recommend heating your lash curler with a hair dryer for three to five seconds before curling them. This should give you that extra curl we all love.
Never pump your mascara (i.e. moving the wand up and down in the tube really fast) because it will allow air into the tube, which will cause your mascara to dry out (and ultimately shorten its lifespan).
Have to make that potato salad again? Great! Use some left over raw potato slices to soothe your eyes. Potatoes are an astringent, which means they help decrease water retention and they also contain an enzyme called catalase which helps lighten dark circles under your eyes. First, wash and peel the potato. Cut two slices and place one on each eye for 10 minutes. Lay down with some soothing music and relax!
Before you tweeze your eyebrows, make sure you soften your skin by dabbing a cotton ball soaked in very warm water or cream over the area. When you start tweezing, do so in the direction of your hair’s growth and please at all costs avoid over-plucking!
Unruly eyebrows? Spritz an old toothbrush or a clean mascara wand with hairspray, then brush brows and style them as desired. Even your most resilient brows will fall in line with this trick.
Adding some false lashes immediately glams up your look, but is not as simple as it looks. First, take your falsies and loosen them by gently flexing the eyelash band. Secondly, curl your natural lashes to make sure your false lashes line up with your actual lash line. Then, smear glue on your falsies using a ear bud. Using tweezers (or finger tips if you feel that gives you more control), place your falsies as close to your lash line as possible. Let your lashes dry for a minute before you add a coat of mascara.
Our last and most important tip… Make eye contact. When you look someone directly in the eye you show that person that their time is important to you….
That’s it for Tip Tuesday rubies, till next time xxx
Do you have any other tips or tricks to share when it comes to your eyes? We would love to hear from you!
No wonder I used to go through so many tubes of mascara the air caused it to dry out. I’m definately going to try putting potatoes on my eyes for the dark rings. Thanks for the tip that one can reuse my mascara wand to brush brows into place. I agree 250% that making direct eye contact is so very important I always do this ☺
