DIY Removal of Red Wine Stains

Have you ever been victim to the unavoidable spill of red wine?

Well we have and in fact more than once!

But before you count your favourite pair of jeans as a lose, we can assure you there is still hope. Take a scroll below at some of the methods you can use to get rid of that awful red wine stain.

Salt & Boiling Hot Water

Always blot the spilt red wine and never rub the area as this just worsens the stain. For this method sprinkle salt directly onto the stain and let it sit long enough to absorb as much of the wine as possible. Then pour boiling hot water over the stain to flush out the wine. Once you have completed these two steps, toss your jeans into the washing machine on a hot wash.

Soda Water

Soda water helps absorb and break down the wine molecules, making it much easier to wash the wine out. This trick works best if you apply it straight away to the stain.

Vinegar & Detergent

Apply white vinegar directly onto the stain, immediately after applying the vinegar, rub in liquid laundry detergent. Let the mixture soak for a few minutes, and then wash your jeans on a hot wash.

Dishwashing Liquid & Hydrogen Peroxide

Mix together an equal amount of dishwashing liquid and hydrogen peroxide. Allow the mixture to soak over the wine stain before putting the item in the washing machine on a normal wash.
