Have you ever heard of the expression “I need my beauty sleep”?
Well according to specialists the benefit of enough sleep is remarkable. Here is why you should get enough sleep..
Less wrinkles – The skin produces new collagen when we sleep. The more collagen your body has, the more elastic your skin is and therefore less wrinkles are likely to appear. If you do not get enough sleep, your skin can become dry which may lead to premature wrinkling.
Radiant face – When we sleep the blood supply to our cells improves due to blood rushing to our face. Which is why under eye bags and dark circles may disappear when your body gets enough sleep. Dark circles and bags under your eyes are the first indication that you are not getting enough sleep. We suggest you start sleeping on a high pillow, as this reduces facial swelling which in turn will help dark under eye circles fade.
Strong hair – Hair loss as well as brittle hair can be a result of the lack of sleep. Hair follicles receive the necessary substances from our blood while we are asleep. Therefore when your blood flow worsens your hair often becomes weak which can lead to the loss of hair.
Skincare products work more efficiently – Skin cells are restored more actively at night because they are not exposed to free radicals or UV rays like they are during the day. While you sleep the blood flow in your face is well circulated which helps to extract the maximum out of useful substance in night creams and serums.
Now that you know the benefits of getting a goodnight sleep, try aim to get in at least 7-8 hours per night and soon your skin will feel and look rejuvenated.

Another one of my goals for 2022 – to improve my time of sleep.
Thanks – Rubybox – very educational.
Sleeping for 8hours or more seems like a luxury because of how hectic things can get. This year I plan to improve on this.
Good sleep really helps in skin health. Good sleep improves your brain performance, mood, and health. Not getting enough quality sleep regularly raises the risk of many diseases and disorders. These range from heart disease and stroke to obesity and dementia. Having enough sleep is good for our health.
I am trying very hard every day to get my beauty sleep because I always sleep before 10 so I am resting enough
Great article…
Interesting read!
I sleep for at least 8hrs and I definitely do my skincare routine before bed😊
I love sleep but hate going to sleep. And the older I get, the more I struggle with sleep.
Getting 8 hours of sleep has always been important to me but since COVID and lockdown, I tend to either go to bed later or have trouble sleeping and then either wake too early or struggle. I’ve been averaging between 4-6 hours and it’s killing me.
I cherish my beauty sleep! Nothing goes right the day after if I haven’t slept enough. This was a great reminder to make sure I strive to get enough sleep (even with an early-riser toddler around)
