Has the price of the monthly rubybox increased?

Yes, the rubybox annual price increase will be implemented across subscriptions from 12pm on the 26th of January 2013. The new prices are:

monthly subscription= R119 per month;

3 month gift subscription= R349;

6 month subscription= R649;

12 month subscription= R1190

Please note, if you already had a rubybox subscription before 12pm on 26 January, your monthly payments will not be increased, and you’ll continue to pay R100 a month until you opt out.

Yipee, I’ve just signed up for a rubybox subscription. What will I receive?

Between the 8th and 15th of every month, you’ll receive a box filled with four or five trial-size samples from luxury beauty brands. Each month will bring a different mix of makeup, skincare, fragrance, body, and hair products. As the samples are trial-size, they are designed to give you enough for you to try for up to a week to figure out if they’re right for you. Plus, our website is packed with expert tips and interviews and detailed product descriptions so you can get the most out of your samples and your rubybox experience. To qualify for next month’s box, you’ll need to sign up before the cut-off date of 12pm on the 26th of the month.

Will you let me know which products I can look forward to every month?

Keeping your beauty profile in mind, we pick the most suitable products for you, so although you won’t know what’s coming your way, your rubybox will be tailor-made for you. Still curious? Can I cancel my subscription?

Monthly members can cancel their rubybox membership at any time. There are no cancellation fees.

Members that sign up for a six month or 12 month subscription are also eligible for cancellation – and can be refunded for services not yet received, however you will lose the discounted amount that you received when signing up.

How to cancel - Simply log onto your personal rubybox account here Once logged in click on ACCOUNT at the top of the screen. Click on MY SUBSCRIPTIONS on the left hand side menu bar. Then click on VIEW SUBSCRIPTIONS button on the right hand side. Scroll down and click on the CANCEL button. A form will then be sent to us, and we will process your cancellation within 48 hours.

Tell me, are there any additional fees for the rubybox subscription?

Nope – whether you’ve chosen the annual, six month, gift or monthly subscription, everything’s included. No additional delivery or handling fees apply for rubybox subscriptions.

Oh no, I received my rubybox and I don’t like the samples – what should I do?

We try to customise your rubybox as closely as possible to your beauty profile, but should you come across a product you don't like or can't use, why not gift it to a lucky friend? You might just make their day (and stop the product from going to waste)!

Now that I’ve received my rubybox, how will I know how to use the products?

We’d never just send you your ruybox and hope for the best. In addition to the product information card that you receive in your rubybox, we’ll provide you with more in-depth information on the products and how to use them, reviews, links to videos and articles on our website.

Is there a cut-off date to sign up for my rubybox subscription?

In order to ensure that you receive your monthly rubybox, you need to sign up before 12pm on the 26th of the current month. So, for example, if you are interested in receiving the September box, please sign up before 12pm on the 26th of August. For those of you who signed up after 12pm on the 26th you will unfortunately have to wait just over a month for your first rubybox in October. In this case, please don’t be alarmed that you will be billed a second time before your first box arrives – as the payment date always stays the same for each month – this however means that we also owe you the following month’s box so you never lose out.

Is my rubybox customised? How do you know I’ll love the products?

Yes we customise all our rubyboxes – that’s why filling out your Beauty Profile is so important. To do so, log in to your personal account and click on Beauty Profile. Complete the questions and click Submit. A few trial-size treats are sent to everyone – these are beauty editor favourites that are carefully selected to ensure that they’ll work across a wide range of skin types and colouring. Other samples are suited specifically to your beauty needs and concerns.

Do I have to re-order my rubybox every month?

No, once you’ve signed up, created an account and filled out your beauty profile, your rubybox subscription renews and re-bills itself automatically every month. As rubybox works on an opt-in basis, you can also opt-out at any time.

Why can't I log into my account?

If you are a rubybox member and you cannot access your account, click on the Forgot Password option below the login blocks. You will be issued with a new password which you can use to enter into your profile.

Will I pay a delivery fee to shop in the online beauty store at rubybox.co.za?

We offer free delivery within five working days, anywhere in South Africa, for orders over R300. If your order amount is less than R300, a R50 delivery fee will be charged. If you are an active rubybox subscriber, you can select to have your boutique order delivered with your next ruybox, in which case you will not be charged for the delivery.

When is the payment deducted from my account for the rubybox subscription?

As soon as you sign up and create your account, payment will be deducted for your first box. Subsequent payments for the following month’s box will be deducted from your account on the same day that you initially signed up on. Debit orders are authorised on the 26th of every month, but it may take a few days for the deduction to show up on your account.

What happens if I don’t have enough money in my account on the day you deduct my rubybox payment?

If you have not been billed successfully you will not receive your rubybox that month. If you are unable to pay for your rubybox when you first subscribe, your subscription will not activate and you will therefore not receive your first rubybox.

How can I pay for my rubybox or any other products?

For rubybox subscriptions and boutique orders we currently accept both VISA and MASTERCARD credit or cheque card (please note your card needs to have a CVV code found on the back of your card). Unfortunately our secure payment gateway mygate does not accept Visa Electron cards or Flexi cards.

You may also pay via EFT for boutique products as well as rubybox gift subscriptions.

You may also pay for your rubybox subscription via Debit Order. Debit orders are authorised on the 26th of every month, but it may take a few days for the deduction to show up on your account. If your payment hasn’t reflected on your statements by the 31st of the month, please let us know on hi@rubybox.co.za.

Can I pay via EFT?

You may pay via EFT if you are gifting a rubybox subscription or purchasing a product from the online beauty store.

I am trying to make a payment on the rubybox website, why is my credit card is being rejected?

Please note that due to credit card fraud, if the country of origin for a buyer differs to the details on the registered credit card the transaction will fail - this measurement has been put in place to limit potential fraud. Now I’ve signed up, I can’t wait to receive my rubybox. When will it be delivered?

Like with your favourite monthly magazine subscription, you’ll receive your rubybox every month. Look out for your rubybox between the 8th and the 15th of every month, as long as your membership is active. You will receive an email from IKK or Taxi Trucks with your individual tracking number, so that you can trace your parcel online. Taxi Trucks send the emails as soon as your parcel has been received by the relevant depot, and you’ll receive an SMS from them on the day of delivery. You can check up on your delivery status by logging into your account here and entering your unique tracking number in the space provided.

How long will it take for my order from the beauty store to arrive?

You can expect your order to arrive within five working days. You’ll receive an email with your tracking number within a day of placing your order, so that you can track and trace your parcel by logging into your account here. If you are an active rubybox subscriber, you can select to have your boutique order delivered with your next rubybox (free of charge), in which case you can expect it to arrive between the 8th and the 15th of the next month.

Does rubybox deliver all over South Africa?

We currently deliver to physical addresses via courier all over South Africa. IKK and Courier IT couriers deliver every month so we need you or someone you trust to sign for the parcel upon arrival at your door. If you are not always at home, then please indicate an alternative address such as a business address, as our couriers deliver during office hours. If it happens that the courier delivers and no one is there to sign for the parcel, they will phone you on your indicated telephone number and arrange a more suitable time. If you entered a P.O. Box address when you signed up and created your profile, your parcel will be sent via the post office.

Wow I just found my new favourite product, where can I buy it?

How can I create a wishlist?

Simply login to your rubybox account on the top right hand corner of the screen (or here) and browse through the game-changing beauty products we've listed in our online beauty store. Once you’ve found products worthy of your wishlist, click on Add to Wishlist.

When you’re done selecting your favourite beauty treats, click on WISHLIST in the top right hand corner of the screen to view your selection. You can then email your wishlist to your nearest and dearest. Just click on the SHARE WISHLIST button, fill in their respective email addresses and add a message (optional) and click on SHARE WISHLIST.

What is your return policy for beauty store orders?

You can return your order to us for a full refund within seven working days after you’ve received it. If you’d like to return products, please inform us in writing to hi@rubybox.co.za with your account details and note that you’ll be charged for the courier fee. Only products that are unused and sealed may be returned to us. Once we’ve received your returned goods your refund will be processed. Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.

rubyRands are designed to help you get the most out of your membership. We reward you for doing the things you already do: shop on rubybox.co.za, refer friends to rubybox, and send us feedback on the samples you receive. Best of all, the rubyRands you earn can be used to purchase full-size products!

rubyRands minimums, maximums and limitations

You can use your rubyRands in multiples of 10 (a minimum of 10 rubyRands can be used at a time).

You can use a maximum of 50 rubyRands per purchase.

Your cart value needs to equal or exceed R100 in order to make use of your rubyRands .

rubyRands cannot be used against rubybox subscriptions and gifts or special discounted offers such as MANBOX or THE COLLECTION.

rubyRands cannot be redeemed against the delivery fee.

rubyRands are not redeemable for cash.

rubyRands expiration

Your rubyRands will expire 180 days after gaining them. Your account page lists your rubyRands balance along with expiration information. We will also send you a reminder email 14 days before rubyRands expire so you can redeem them in time.

Simply add items from our online beauty store to your shopping cart. The amount in your cart needs to equal or exceed R100 in order to make use of your rubyRands.

Once you are on the Checkout page, you’ll see your current rubyRands balance where you can choose to redeem a maximum of 50 rubyRands per purchase.

How do I refer friends and earn rubyRands?

To refer friends, please log in to your personal account and click on 'My Referrals' on the left had side bar. The rubybox Referral Page will open up. Scroll down to Send Invitations and type in your friends' email addresses separated with a comma. Then add a personal message to them and click on the Send Invitations button. You will be credited with 10 rubyRands for every friend that creates an account with rubybox. For every friend who successfully signs up for a rubybox subscription or purchases a product from the boutique, you will be credited with 25 rubyRands.

Can I spend my rubyRands on the flashsales?

Unfortunately you cannot redeem rubyRands or discount vouchers on any of our flashsale items.

How do I earn rubyRands by reviewing products in the online boutique?

You can earn 5 rubyRands for every product review you submit in the online boutique. To review a product, click on the Reviews tab left of the product image. You will be prompted to log in. Follow the steps to complete your review. Once your review has been approved, your rubyRands will reflect in your personal profile.

Tell me, what’s a flashsale?

A flashsale is a fantastic discount offer which is only available online for a very limited time. In our case, you can shop a selection of designer beauty items at a major discount for 72 hours only.

Discount vouchers and rubypoints may not be redeemed in conjunction with flashsale orders.

What products can I expect on a rubybox flashsale?

In addition to all the beauty editor endorsed products in the rubybox online beauty store, you will be able to shop selected beauty products for up to 60% off on our flashsale pages.

How long is a flashsale available for?

The reason we can bring you designer beauty for a fraction of the regular price is due to the fact that flashsales only run for 72 hours at a time. So keep watching rubybox.co.za and make sure you browse through the flashsale products as soon as the flashsale starts so you can take advantage of the fantastic discounted prices.
