We hate having our nails done – said no one ever! In lieu of Spring being here, we thought we’d provide you with some nail inspiration just to get that feeling of summer and normality back. We don’t know about you rubies but when we get our nails done it feels like our lives are more put together. And we definitely need some of that energy during this whole COVID-19 business that still seems to be circling in SA.
Please note that some of these nail designs are very out there, a change is as good as a holiday, right? So why not change up your usual go-to manicure with something fresh that you wouldn’t normally do.
Prepare to get INSPIRED!
Is there any easier way to do spring nails than with stunning pastel colours? Wear every pastel shade you can get on your claws all at once. #winning Loving this look!
Green definitely screams Spring, anyone agree? But to take it up a notch why not pair it with some crisp graphic white lines.
This look is probably the easiest in terms of not trying too hard but fulfilling the appearance of nail art. Paint one hand one shade and the other hand a different colour. These colours are to die for – we are especially loving that mustard colour.

A little mix & match with @ooopolish in Mino & Ngayene ✨. They have a ton of stunning shades on their site that I’m eyeing (I went on a green polish spree for my first order 🌱), and I love that they offer different sizes so you can grab a full-size and a smaller one for touch-ups/travel! OOO Polish is a Black-owned business that hand-makes their cruelty-free, 8-free, vegan polishes – and their inclusive imagery of swatches on so many skin types and skin tones across ages is truly so beautiful. I’ve got a bunch to play with right now, but I’ll be patiently waiting for the restock ☺️.
Just because we can’t party just yet in clubs around South Africa doesn’t mean we can’t get super shiny disco nails! This look is GOALS and it is a little less cutesy which we love.
Just the Tips
Everyone loves the good old French manicure but why not change it up slightly by bringing a modern twist on the classic. Instead of having white tips you could go for black, pink or orange. It’s a great way to test out the colours you aren’t so sure on.

Three new desert-inspired shades from @orosabeauty showed up and I thought I’d try my hand at some tips! I used the polish brush to make the shape along the edge, which admittedly started out rough, but cleaned it up with my Cirque Clean Up brush and some polish remover to get a more defined line. I’m still working on getting my right hand to look less shaky, but this was relatively quick and probably my favorite one yet ☺️. Shades L to R, all @orosabeauty: Super Bloom, Sky, Desert Rose, Saguaro, Wisteria (gifted) #OverglowEditNails
The first thing that comes to mind when thinking of Spring? Flowers DUH! These tiny daisies are guaranteed to put a smile on anyone’s face throughout the day.
