Skincare Tips for the Lazy Girl, by the Lazy Girl

To the beauty slackers and alarm snoozers, we know you love your pillow more than removing your makeup. I’m the queen of multi-purpose everything; if I run out of something, I have a seriously good (at times odd) replacement. Lip gloss as eye shadow anyone? Here are my tips to making lazy, look good.

Wipe on, wipe off
Hands up, who woke up with their makeup still fully intact this morning? I’m guilty of this, but the way my skin looks and feels the morning after is just not worth it. Avoid committing this skin care sin with a pack of facial wipes. Cleansers are not a lazy girls first love, we’ll certainly find a way to avoid getting unnecessarily wet,  but refreshing, cooling face wipes, now those are our little saviours! I dedicate time (me, really?) to browse for the perfect face wipe – a delicately scented, soft towelette packed with vitamins, antioxidants and soothing ingredients to care for my skin while doing the dirty work.
Try antioxidant rich Rooibos Cleansing Facial Wipes, no more excuses!

Two instead of 22
The typical bathroom cabinet of someone who religiously cares for their skin will look something like this; makeup remover (sometimes pre-makeup remover, gasp!) cleanser, toner, exfoliator, face mask, serum, day cream with SPF, night cream and eye cream. And, if you’re on an anti-ageing or acne regime, you’re likely to add two or three more products to your list list.

Me? The resident lazy girl – I have two of the above; an exfoliating face wash and the most important beauty product of all, a moisturising sunscreen, which keeps my skin hydrated and protects against ageing. My picks? Yves Rocher Three Detoxifiying Teas Exfoliating Foam Cleanser  and Black Opal Even True Nutritive Skin Moisturiser SPF 15

Blue moon blitz
There’s no monthly facial for me, who has the time (or the money)? Instead, once a month, while catching up on an episode of Two Broke Girls, I blitz blackheads and congestion with a deep cleansing face mask. My choice? Dr Organic Dead Sea Mineral Bio-Plasma Mud Mask.

Winter is coming
In winter, my skin tends to flake a bit, but when it gets to the point of flaking a lot, I add one more product to my routine: a hydrating night cream. I apply all over my face, neck and decolletage just before bed so that my skin benefits from the moisturising boost – promise it’s worth it. Go for Africology Moisturiser.
