With summer here, the sun invites us to spend more time outdoors but it also brings humidity with it which is one of the main culprits for oily skin and sweat induced breakouts.
So here are a few skin care tips to help your skin look its best this summer.
Wash your face twice daily
This is extremely vital, with a rise in humidity you tend to sweat more, which causes breakouts as well as clogs your pores. The hot weather also makes our skin hosts to more bacteria. So quit being lazy and wash your face!
Don’t forget toner
Once you have washed your face, dab toner on a cotton pad and give your face that extra wipe down. This helps to remove all that extra makeup and dirt which didn’t come off when washing your face. This is just an extra step to make sure your face is clean and free of any dirt which could clog your pores.
Drink water, lots of water
Staying hydrated will keep your skin glowing even during the sweaty months. By staying hydrated you will cleanse your body of toxins and bacteria, which will help avoid those germs from sticking around. Moisturise, but don’t over moisturise
Too much moisturiser can clog your pores, which is the last thing you want. You actually want your face to sweat, as this prevents your pores from becoming blocked. We suggest that you actually switch to a light moisturiser during the hotter summer months of the year. Thick moisturiser is needed in winter to combat the cold, dry conditions whereas in summer a light oil-free moisturiser will keep your skin hydrated without clogging your pores.
Keep your skin exfoliated
When it comes to the hotter months, opt for a hydrating facial cleanser that also remove dead skin cells. This can help keep your skin looking fresh, smooth and hydrated.
