Weddings involve a lot of work especially if you are involved in the work behind the scenes.
Therefore as a bridesmaid here are some tips to ensure that you are on top of your game:
Don’t leave all the work to the Maid Honour or the Bride – While the bachelorette party might involve the Maid of Honour heavily, don’t be afraid to offer a helping hand when it comes to brainstorming ideas for the festive evening.
Leading up to the big day everything seems to be overwhelming for everyone involved, especially the bride. Offer to pick up small tasks such as helping book accommodation to ensuring the flowers have been arranged.
Lend a listening ear – Emotions are always running high when it comes to weddings. Don’t be afraid to offer a listening ear as it is completely normal for a bride to feel nervous leading up to her big day.
Ensure the the bridal party looks their best – Getting married doesn’t happen everyday, so make sure that you and the bridal party are looking your very best. Do a spot check before you are all about to walk down the aisle as well as before you take the bridal party photographs.
If you are saying a speech, remember practice makes perfect – When it comes to saying a speech, practice makes perfect. Ensure to engage with the guest and keep eye contact at most times, this doesn’t mean you need to know your speech off by heart but if you are using notes try keep them neat or in todays day and age have your speech saved on your phone.
To drink at the reception or not? – Yes of course! Just remember to keep an eye on how much you are drinking, in order to steer away from any drunken antics which you could land up in.
Remember it is not your special day – You are there to support the bride and not to outshine her on her big day. So do your best to help keep the spotlight on the newlyweds but of course don’t forget to have fun.
