Tip Tuesday #46 - Tips for Oral Care
Good oral care is essential, not just for beautiful teeth and fresh breath, but also for your general health. Scientists have been exploring what causes periodontal disease and further research has been done to determine possible links between gum disease, premature births, heart disease, diabetes, respiratory problems and strokes.
It is therefore, vital to brush teeth morning and evening. Night time brushing is essential. It prevents the bacteria living in the little pockets surrounding each tooth from multiplying while you sleep. This bacteria produces poisonous gasses that damage the soft tissue and surrounding bone structure that should keep the teeth firmly embedded in the bone.
Regular visits to your Oral Hygienist are an important part of good oral health. Your Oral Hygienist can also recommend suitable vitamins, mouthwashes and toothbrushes to guide you to the perfect smile!
