Natural Hair Fest 2017 (By Kayla from Kay Attitude)
I, Kayla had the opportunity of visiting the natural hair fest 2017 on behalf of Kay Attitude... so what was the experience like?
Its amazing to see women of different backgrounds and cultures come together for the sole purpose other than being female. We came together as being natural!
The natural hair community is vastly growing and it is one that can impact our future
Years ago embracing natural hair was something to be ashamed of, today we stand tall in a community of naturalistas to encourage one another to overcome all obstacles.
One of the things I’ve noticed is that every curly haired girl has so much respect for another why? Because we understand that the journey and transition to return to ones roots in most cases is challenging.
At this event we all stood tall, big hair and all as we glance around as we spent on the best natural hair care products found in SA.
Not only was this an opportunity to network, it was also one to appreciate everyones natural hair journey.
Although Kay Attitude strives to make a difference and impact others to accept their self image , this can’t be done without our curl society, the opportunities are endless when fros meet!
(Full video on our FB page) This lyrical stanza written and recited here by @andymkosi glorifies the South African natural and everything that My Natural Hair stands for. We took to the streets of Cape Town City Bowl and chatted to known and unknown naturals to create this clip. If you felt any connection when watching it, please comment with a fist up ✊?(lol) or anything and please share to spread the love! Credit to our local ladies @roxcizzle @carissacupido @amyraer @moniquemortlock and all the other beauties we met along the way. Thank you for your time and willingness!!!
