Where they've come from
It all started in 1938 with a mountain – and a man with a vision. Franz Greiter, a Swiss chemistry student and passionate mountaineering enthusiast, suffered overexposure to the sun while scaling the Piz Buin mountain in the Alps. He took his experience and embraced nature’s challenge, inventing the first sun protection product in 1946. This innovation finally enabled anyone who shared the passion for living life outdoors to do so safely.
Where they're going
As suncare specialists, all Piz Buin sun protection products include an advanced UVA/UVB sun filter system. This offers broad spectrum protection against both burning UVB rays that harm the skin’s surface resulting in sunburn and ageing UVA rays that penetrate the skin deeper, damaging collagen and elastin, which can lead to premature ageing and cancer.
